And…we’re back! And…we’re here! Ashley and I arrived in Shanghai a day late due to “mechanical problems” out of St. Louis, which resulted in a night in New York City. Nothing too exciting to discuss there. It was raining and our luggage was elsewhere, so there was not a whole lot to do. No Les Halles or Book of Mormon for us.
Since arriving in Shanghai we’ve been spending every waking moment apartment searching and Internet fixing/manipulating. The blog website was, well, is still, blocked and our usual VPN and proxies are down, too. However, after some increasingly vigorous investigations and some help from a friend, we are now able to freely use the Internet–the way every person should. Recently, China has been intensifying its restrictions and censorship controls on the Internet for a handful of reasons, but more on that later.
We haven’t had any time at all to snap many pictures or do anything of any real interest, unfortunately. But, our today is your Turkey day, so this evening we will post some pictures of how the Chinese unknowingly celebrate Thanksgiving. Enjoy your holiday!

Love you guys!! Glad all is well!! Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Posted by B. Lemke | November 24, 2011, 7:17 PMHappy Thanksgiving you two! Hope you find a place to live soon, and too bad you didn’t get to see Book of Mormon. I’m going to try to see it with Kimmy sometime…
Posted by DaveLee | November 24, 2011, 12:55 PMThanks, Dave, and you too! We finally found a place, something we can be satisfied with, and all that jazz. You and Kimmy should definitely go and see it (Nine Tony awards!) and let us know how it is. <3
Posted by B. Lemke | November 24, 2011, 7:12 PMMom and I are glad you made it. Did the luggage arrive ok? Also glad that you have found an apartment. What is that being roasted in the picture above?
Posted by Francis Lemke | November 27, 2011, 5:14 PMHey Dad,
The picture is of roasted duck, which they eat a lot of here. And yes, the luggage made it ok, surprisingly. Phew!
